Do you remember Dungeons and Dragons? Were you sorry that you were not born on Pern? Are you a fan of Swords and Sorcery? Well even if you are just a fan of Fantasy and SF, you will love reading this excellent example of the Genre.
Growing up in an Orphanage is saddening; it begins with the absence of any other family members through death or abandonment and can be a frustrating experience for the children involved even when the Care Givers are Nuns and give as much love as possible to their charges; in this case Paul and Denise, whose parents were presumed dad in a fiery crash. They are rescued from their Home and taken to the Farm/Ranch and are lovingly adopted by the O'Hallorans where over the next few years they learn that lines of power join on the Ranch lands and give them the power to do Magic, of the Wizardly Persuasion. With me so far? Good.
Paul and Denise fall in love, and as the years progress they are joined by others like Cheryl, Kelley, and 'Bernie' all of whom are Wizards in their own right. Then they learn about a mysterious bequest which makes them realize that maybe, just maybe their parents are not dead after all but in hiding on a different plane of existence where two suns rotate with the earth eliminating night, and where Swords and Sorcery reign supreme.
This is an excellent story full of well thought out characters and plot which keeps the reader entertained as it evolves, like a well written Symphony to a crashing finale...one chapter at a time.
Enjoy!
