Reviewed:
Why I wrote a review of this posting. I think it is an excellent idea for a author with 90 stories, or maybe even a lot less, to select stories he thinks readers would enjoy, to get them started reading the rest of his work. Also its dedicated to Techsan. I reviewed one of his stories and liked it and think a lot of other readers would too. Also, the management hates it when I review more than one story per review, and its going to be difficult to avoid that with this posted "story". Its going to be interesting to see what reaction I get.
Finally I get to use the advertising slogan, "see Paris and die." Not that I think looking at him or a picture of him would be fatal. No I want to say, "read Paris Waterman and enjoy le petite morte. (I hope that is French for the little death, aka an orgasm.) There are more than one kind of death, at least for the French.
As a further digression, since we were discussing the French, Heaven is French Cooks, English Police, and German Engineering. Hell is French Engineering, English Cooks, and German Police.
Now that I have avoided a short review, this compilation is eleven short stories. As far as I can tell no two have the same main characters. But the action is hot. For stroke value my new standard is Paris Waterman. Even the last name indicates proximity to him gets you wet.
The story plot number is hard to calculate. Most of them are pretty straight forward. Rather than default to a NA. I will estimate a seven. These are short stories, there isn't a lot of room for twists and turns. Two or three or occasionally more characters have a really sexy time. Not sure more plot is needed.
I also going to give a seven for Technical Quality. The table of contents indicates there are a one chapter story, a two chapter story and another with eight chapters. It looked to me like each chapter was a story by itself, as I didn't see any with main characters repeating. And the first story looks to be what the table of contents says is the third chapter. About a male taxi driver and a horny female passenger.
Why should I be different for Appeal? Its a seven, good and very high stroke value, but when I voted it a seven it looked like the other voters at that point agreed with me, or I agreed with them. This definitely does not mean you shouldn't read his stories.
A lot of the longer ones have the yellow stripe of abandoned or in progress. Or had voting turned off, or have a dozen or more, some short, stories to complete the series, or in one case follow Around the World in 80 Days and I know how that one comes out, I saw the movie. Personally I am going to read number 90 on the list next, its one of his highest rated stories.
