If I were to limit my assessment of this story to one word, it would be easy to choose the right one: inconsistent. It started out as a simple enough formulaic stroke piece, with the standard flaws for such, but then started to develop some of the characters. It seemed, actually, to be morphing into a coming-of-age story for a time, before being shoehorned back into a stroke piece, and reversing much of the character development previously introduced.
Those looking for pure stroke, who don't mind the odd physical impossibility or philosophical oration if it doesn't get too much in the way, would likely enjoy this one, especially if they are fans of Lubrican. Anyone else (especially Andrew Johns) probably wouldn't.
