Some stories, like Louis L'Amour's "The Walking Drum" mix in a little bit of history with a lot of story. This story mixes in quite a bit more of true history, politics, religion and law, with a smattering of philosophy to boot, then adds about 70% storyline. If you enjoy that type of writing, you will enjoy this story.
For plot, I give this a B (7). It is above average, but fails to answer some very basic questions. Who is the MC (other than his name)? How did he get the money to not only purchase the corsair, but to fly it around the world? There is a lot of story here, but absolutely none of the background which would allow us to understand the MC. For me, that is an integral part of the story, and could have been done with just a few hundred words.
For technical quality, I give the story an A+ (9). I found very few errors, and would guess at less than 10 total spread out across 7 very full pages of writing. The one downside is that the style can be slightly dry at times, even though the author does mix in a small amount of humor here and there.
For personal appeal, I give it an A (8). I enjoy reading well made arguments about history, philosophy, religion, politics and other subjects which others may seek to avoid.

Around the world in LESS than 80 Days. Well with time out for sampling the local females he made damn good time.
This is all done in a F4U4 (WW II Corsair).
I would have liked to know a bit more about the places he visited though.
I have stated that I do not wish to know how many times someone chews his food or what he had unless he furnished a darn good recipe. Well I've been most of the places that are mentioned and recipes are not necessary. The food mentioned was pretty tasty when I was there.
This is just a travelogue of a plane trip. Yes there is some sex and a LOT of personal rants but hell he makes sense on most levels.
While it's not boring it isn't seat gripping either.
I personally would have gone to Boogis Street in Singapore.
The whole story seemed as if he was on a timed mission. This is/was a trip that could have been stretched out to be a lot more tavelogue and visiting neat places. Kuala Lampur is one.
Over all I'd have to say it's a good read.
