In days of yore, Medieval Europe practised "Le Droit de Seigneur." All virgins in the Lord's Domain were by law the the property of the Lord on their wedding night!
Over the years various rites of womanhood have been tried, and one family tradition has it that the Grandfather should do the dirty to all his granddaughters on their fourteenth birthday in front of all the family members!
