The Author takes us behind the wall of secrecy covering BDSM and modern willing slavery, and the ritualistic way that the two philosphies are intertwined.You are led along the path that Jake (our Hero) takes from his original awkening to his final days at school and his steps into manhood and his wonderful harem.
This is such an exciting and erotic story that one can really feel the willingness of a mother to have sex with her son with the permission of his father. And how he is trained by his father's personal slave, Girl.

‘Growing Up A Master’ creates a new category for domination stories. This well written story develops realistic characters and does it with an approach that I’ve not seen in this genre.
Too many stories start after the main character has embarked on a ‘Dom’ lifestyle and most start after he is already a ‘Top’. In ‘GUAM’, MWTB shows the atypical development from being a teenage boy to a competent Master. Additionally, the story shows this transition of our hero, Jake, while showing his humanity, his care and love for his ‘Girls’, and the sexuality that they all need.
The story leaves us at Jake’s first year of college and leaves us hanging. This is right in line with Cat’s advice to Jake “wanting more …… is how you should always strive to leave a partner”. The story begs for a sequel.

In "Growing Up A Master", we have the story of a young man whose parents are involved in the D/s lifestyle, and bring their son up with the tools to make a decision on where he fits in the spectrum between Dominant and sumbissive.
The sex in the story starts off really bland, because Jake is given complete access to "Girl", a complete slave to his father. I found it difficult to be entertained by a young man not having to do really anything to get everything a woman could possibly offer. After that point, though, the sex gets damn hot. The longterm flirtation with mother/son incest was well done, and the handling of many of the women that come into Jake's life was very entertaining.
The plot itself is not much, because it isn't meant to be taken seriously. Once you make sure you have your sense of disbelief locked away in a closet somewhere, the story really is a good one. But if you don't lock it tightly up and you know something about real D/s, some aspects will be almost farcical.
Technically, the story was very tightly done. I don't remember any obvious flaws.
I would have liked to see a bit more description used for some of the acts, especially some of those that had a lot of build-up. The mother-son act took most of the story to build up to, and it just didn't satisfy that tension.
Also, many of the "JG parties" seemed to be a weak point, because so much happened, it got condensed down to snippets. And the girls doctoring Jake's beverages with Viagra so he could service them all just didn't work.
Other scenes were simply implied or hinted at, that should/would have been powderkegs of excitement for the participants. Since Jake used many humiliations and embarassments as part of the "mind fuck" aspect of D/s, the fact that so many were seemingly left off the table was somewhat disappointing.
I enjoyed this story. I don't think it was on par with MWTB's wonderful "Tired of Being a Nice Guy" story, but it was a fun and at times extremely erotic read. Unless watersports offends you (not a big thrill of mine) or incest upsets you, and you like fantasy D/s stuff, this is a very worthy read.
