Reviewed:
In "Now This Won't Hurt A Bit", we have the continuation of the Haven series. Please make sure you read the first novel in the series, "The House At The End Of The Stree", before reading this one. Failure to do that will make the reader have a lot of questions about what is going on.
The Darkness the 4 kids encountered in the first story is now visiting their school as they start back for the new year. New people are being influenced as part of an insideous plot of unknown origion. Can the 4 kids stop this new threat?
For the sex in this story, it is almost all non-con with a very heavy dose of mind control. One or both of the participants were either directly or indirectly influenced to commit acts they would not normally do. Because of that, very little of the sex in this story was truly arousing. I didn't find this to really be a stroke story, hence the low rating.
The plot itself is another example of the complex and brilliant story crafting that I have come to expect from A Strange Geek. The author makes you think about what is happening, and really ponder what is coming next as you turn the electronic page.
Technically, the story was almost flawless. The only mistake I noticed the whole time was when Cassie became Carrie for one sentence. Other then that, nothing ever jumped out at me.
This is a dark story. The dark fantasies that get played out are often not ones the individual would normally entertain. As such, it made for some interesting encounters.
The story clearly ends with a sequel just waiting to be written. A lot of questions remain, the least of which is how some of the affected people will now act. And I can't wait to read it!
I highly recommend this story.
