He's ba a a a c k!
It's been a while but he hasn't changed a lot. He's a little older and so are his characters. The story progresses LOGICALLY but then that's his style, no jumping from one premise to the next without a reason.
The premise, marry someone who hates him to save the family business. Ok, not too believable but hell, it's FICTION. It's Don Lockwood, what do you expect? Romance with a capital R. Happy endings and a little drama. I really expected her father to throw a major monkey wrench in the works.
It's worth the read, especially for Don Lockwood fans.
My personal DL hanky award is 2.

He’s back, and he’s still got it.
Which is to say, this new Don Lockwood story is entirely in the same vein as his old tales. The characters are a little older, but they are recognizably his type of characters, dealing with his type of problems, and resolving them in his type of ways. Am I disappointed that the main couple aren’t teens or college-age? Yeah, a bit. Do I believe the premise? Not for a second—but it’s a good excuse for the rest of the story. Which is a new Lockwood story, and he’s still got it.
Regarding that premise: to save his father’s small software firm, Brad accepts an arranged marriage with an investor’s daughter, Ingrid, who hates him for supposedly raping her best friend back in high school. Not all is as it seems, of course, and they both have issues to work through—eventually working through them together. As one does.
I admit I’m not the most objective reviewer for Lockwood. Heck, I’ve written stories modeled on his. If his other stories don’t work for you, this one probably won’t either. But regardless, it’s a good story.
