This story takes place at a time several hundred years following World War 3 and "The Great Burning", an event of near-extinction level warfare. The remaining people must learn many things that had previously been lost in the massive destruction of the world and the deaths of billions of people. The MC is the son of the head archivist, the most learned of the remaining civilization, and the tale takes place at a time in which his father has died in a suspicious manner.
For plot, I give this an A (8). The author does a pretty decent job of fleshing out the story, even though it does skip around a little.
For technical score, another A (8). There are just enough small mistakes, mainly with homophones, to drop the score.
For technical appeal, another A (8). The story feels like it could go so much further than it did, both in the past, relative to the story, and in the future.

In the not so distant future, the world is slowly recovering from a series of Global Wars caused by,what else, religious intolerance. Each of the major religions blindly believing that it was their "God Given Right as the Only Real Religion" To kill to the last man woman and child all members of the other false religions. Nuclear war reduced the population from billions to mere millions. And even in those darkest hours men tried to save the knowlege from destruction. And they succeed. And it was from the dedicated research by Archivists that great steps were taken to understand and use the great storehouse of knowlege for the peaceful benefit of "Modern Man."
I have enjoyed Fick Suck's stories in the past, but this one is superb in allowing us to literally feel the characters as they come alive, and die, too. There is a small amount of sex in the story, but it is basically needed to tell the tale. Enjoy, I did!
