What is your typical cheerleader? Always hanging out with the jocks and had their little click group. They only knew you when they needed something—oh, remembering high school was a nightmare from a lifetime ago.
I stumbled upon this story by ’just this guy' titled ‘First Cheer,’ an exciting account.
Bethany was different, brilliant, and took science electives with the pseudo-nerds. Marched to a different drummer, she wouldn’t put out or engage in any extra gameplay, not even to that handsome jock. No means no. So did not have much of social life, except for cheerleading.
After two years of science classes, I’ve developed a crush on Bethany, but she’s too pretty for me. What am I going to do? She’s a cheerleader, for gosh sakes. Please read this story of love missed, or was it?

In "First Cheer", a H.S. junior has a good female friend that happens to be a cheerleader and geek.
I didn't really enjoy reading this story, as the viewpoint (1st person from the male side) was often jumbled. If the author was trying to show a slightly hyper and poorly organized thought pattern, he did a wonderful job. However, it made it harder to read for me.
The author did a great job of showing off how clueless many young men are when it comes to girls/women flirting with them. It takes a while before guys start to realize that when a girl touches them frequently, or spends a lot of time hanging out with them, it is often not JUST friendship they want. Bethany has a crush on the male character. (I don't remember ever seeing his name in the story...) He just doesn't realize it.
The sex was not bad, but there wasn't an electric feeling to it. It happened, and we read about it, but I didn't find it all that erotic.
Technically, it was only average. Not including the jumbled seeming thoughts of the male viewpoint, there were punctuation and grammar errors. Nothing outrageous, but it often made me have to re-read a sentence to make sure I understood it correctly. That always takes away from my enjoyment of a story.
I felt this story was only average, and I wouldn't want to re-read it. That is, to me, a sign of average. A reader may or may not enjoy this.
