As I read this story, I began to see it in my head in B&W.

I could see John Garfield sitting at a desk typing out his life story, which begins to appear on the screen. It was like a great classic with the hero narrating at certain intervals; revealing his thoughts and feelings about the events taking place.

DG Hear is a great story-teller and I'm looking forward to reading more of his things.
