Reviewed:
This is a remarkable story set during the 1930s. The view of life during that time is as interesting as the characters and events that unfold in their world.
As the story opens up and as it continues to unfold we are drawn into the complex universe of family when disagreements arise and the whole family gets involved.
As the author noted in his description: family comes first, but there's always a price to pay. He does an excellent job of showing the price that's paid and the sacrifices made to keep family together in spite of the differences.
The closing paragraph, on its own, is a remarkable piece of prose; and I highly recommend this first rate story from the fantastic story teller known as Openbook.
