As part of a geology assignment for school a boy is out collecting rocks when he discovers a portal to another world. When he travels to the other world the initial portal he used is destroyed and so unless he can find another portal to return he is trapped. This is a story of his adventures in this "Otherworld" and the discovery of the events that occur there.
This land is a medieval type, magical place. The dark dwellers have been attacking the good kingdom. The author has created an interesting setting with an interesting plot. I enjoyed seeing how the characters came together and how things were eventually resolved. Without giving the story away I enjoyed the misdirection that was part of the plot that is revealed at the end. Part of the plot involved the boy discovering he had pheromone power that gave him control over women. Guess how he uses that, hahaha. I don't recall any glaring errors so I would say it was fairly well written. While it did have some sex in it this was not a stroke story, more of a plot driven piece. If you enjoy sword and sorcery pieces, you will enjoy this story. I did and was glad I read it.
