In any story, suspension of the reader's disbelief is essential to create the world for the characters to inhabit. In Captain Gold 'Porlock' has achieved this in spades!
In the first few paragraphs you are drawn into a fantastic future world of terror, telepathy, and sentient space ships. The characters that inhabit this world are so finely crafted as to be totally believable. Add to that feats of derring do, murder, mystery, and suspense, and it all adds up to an enthralling tale.
Blessedly free from the common errors so prevalent on SOL, the story is technically very good. The plot is original and well constructed, and I would have been happy if it had continued for another thirty chapters!
Captain Gold will undoubtedly be added to my library, I suggest that if you are a Fantasy and Science Fiction aficionado, it's well worth adding to yours!
Read and enjoy!
