A shame. Life – and survival – got in Warlord's way.
According to his blog entries he's had some health issues that have precluded his finishing this, and other stories. A shame.
Scout, even though incomplete and inactive for 12 years, is both good enough and long enough to be worthy of a read.
All of Warlord's tales are good, but if you like adventures set far in the future with spaceships, fembots, sentient AIs and technology with little basis in our current understanding of physics, then this is a story for you.
Eddy is the protagonist. Youngest son of a wealthy individual, grandson of even wealthier individuals and in the favor of the Emperor of the current star empire. He's got an extraordinary vessel, with a sentient AI and sets out to explore the universe, following in the footsteps of his grandfathers, he desires to make discoveries that will enhance the wealth and prestige of his families.
Not all goes as planned right from the beginning – but I'll let you sort that for yourself should you choose to read this tale.
There are a bunch of similar stories here on SOL, adventures and sex in space, but this one, even incomplete, is, IMO, one of the better ones, currently #58 of 1546 in this genera. Enjoy it and when you're done, be a bit sad too that Warlord has had to leave it incomplete.
Warlord, should you read this, I wish you better health and a return to being able to writing as I enjoy the heck out your work! Good fortune to ye!
