Reviewed:
Whoa! This writer has a great way of giving life to his dark desires.
"Lights! Camera! Action!" is about teenage girl who manipulates her young mother into helping her with her school project. You may have guessed that it's a film of some sort and you'd be 100% correct.
What makes this a 'must read' story to me is how well Gato Medio tells it. His style is a little different from most I read and I find I enjoyed it immensely.
Gato has a way of building it up so that you're anticipating the next move the main character will make. Although there is some predictability to the story, it's fun to read how it unfolds so to speak.
The story deals with a mother who is only 34 years old. Now, if you're as old as I am, 34 is YOUNG and I know some FINE women over 40 as well. So, to me, 34 is still a 'baby' :)
My personal tastes in women aside, this story appeals to me in the sense of "Hmmm, it could happen!" After all, this is the society we live in and although the taboos for and about incest exist there are families that are very "open" with each other in terms of communications without judging each other as sick-minded pervs. Which all of us who frequent and patronize SOL are. Aren't we? hmmm?!?!??!
The point is this story is not only well written and well told, but well plotted out as well. (You think you got enough 'wells' in there vette?) :)
I've had the pleasure of reading a couple of Gato Medio's stories. This one just happens to appeal to me the most and is one of my personal favorites.
If you like this author's style, I recommend reading "Art Heist" as well. I really enjoyed that one too.
Enjoy!
