Reviewed:
Downward Spiral is a brilliant but unfinished story.
The author took some real risks with the style of writing. It is done in the style of a journal where each character tells their perspective.
The next chapter takes about half of the events from the earlier chapter and tells them from another point of view and then brings the story forward.
I really enjoyed that style of writing because I love to get into the reasons why the characters are doing what they are doing.
The author made some very believable characters who all have different motivations for why and what they do.
The story starts off with one family, and the mother's new boyfriend becoming a "Master" and introducing them to D/s. It escalates into another family's interactions and culminates with a really fun outdoor camping trip and pony race.
I would have loved to see the author continue the story because there seemed to be so much more to tell. That being said, you can still enjoy the chapters that are written and come away with a great slice of their life.
