Reviewed:
Aunt Tina shows up when Simon's parents are leaving for vacation, when he had anticipated two weeks of unsupervised freedom; her arrival was not welcome--until he saw her. They had met before, when 14 year old Simon was little (he could almost remember her), but she wasn't anything like he remembered. She was exciting, a fantasy come true. Aunt Tina very quickly became Simon's favorite aunt.
"My Least Favorite Aunt" is a well-written, narrowly-designed, well-edited story that teases its way along, teases Simon along, teases the reader along with hints of more that might be coming later. Aunt Tina is the perfect teenage boy's introduction to sex. She knows just the right buttons to push--or to unfasten. As she chastises Simon, "Clearly, all that sperm has backed up into your brain and made you bad," she leads him along and he willingly follows.
It has a simple, frequently-used plot, with no devious twists and turns, that could be tiresome except that the story is written well, developed patiently, and populated with two interesting characters. Tina and Simon are well-rounded and fleshed out--we really get to know two people.
And Tina is especially well-rounded and fleshed out. Much of the hot stroke appeal of the story involves Simon's attempts to catch a glimpse of Tina's well-rounded flesh.
TooMuchTime has written an enjoyable stroke story with an actual plot and characters, conflict and resolution. I enjoyed it.
