Vulgus is a classic author, and I've reviewed many of his stories.
It's hard not just to give them all an instant ten and say it's gold. They always hit nicely well paced, clever and perverted. His writing is descriptive. He's a show, don't tell author that uses word pictures rather than "Then he did that, then they did this" technique.
The best way to rate Vulgus would probably be to rank it is to compare it to some of his other classics.
This is a five chapter story, so there isn't a lot of opportunity for a long story. He tends to keep them short, but keep the pacing high.
His style is to keep it simple. The story begins with a very sad situation, and Vulgus nails that sort of uncertainty and loss during a crises.
It's hard to start a story like that and stroke it. I'll try, but it's hard to do.

However, the story quickly gets into third gear by the end of chapter one, and you think it's going to go one way, but then it goes another way. That's classic Vulgus.
The writing is technically great, no errors I could discover. If you like his other stories, you'll like this one. It's got themes of BDSM, Prostitution, Bestiality, Blackmail, and all that good stuff his fiction often has.
I think my favorite part about his writing and this story is no exception is that usually you want just two more chapters. I want to know what happens "the day after" the story ends.
