Reviewed:
Full Disclosure: I am biased because Vulgus is an inspiration of mine, and so anything he writes I am likely to gush over.
Plot:
The set up to to Total Surrender is a woman falling on hard times, with little choice must make a choice to submit to someone's twisted depravity and humiliations. The twist is that she has a teenage daughter to be concerned about.
Technical:
Total Surrender is six chapters, all of which seem very well edited and grammatically correct. Vulgus has a way with brevity of words to paint a mental image in your mind of places and people that is exceptional. This is an easy to read story.
Commentary:
This is not a graphic story, it's more about exploring the emotional aspects of surrendering control, and responsibility. The BDSM is fairly minimal, but it's more about almost testing and pushing boundaries as opposed to sexual gratifaction.
This is a good story to read, but it is a departure for Vulgus from many of his early stories which are a little more on the "hard" side.
There are times you have to suspend a little disbelief, but overall this story works for me in terms of a fun read and I'll definitely read it again.
If you are an old school fan of Vulgus, you will likely enjoy this, and if you are new to him I would suggest all of his past works. Good stuff.
