Reviewed:
After feedback from readers, RACoole has recently added an extra chapter and epilogue to his first story "Best friends and lovers". I decided that it was time to re-read the story and write a review.
The story is set in the late 1960's and early 1970's, a time of new freedoms being available to young adults. The story follows Toby's life of growing up from a school boy to a young man. Toby's adventures are shared with his best mate Andrew and Andrew's girlfriend Emma. Poor Toby has a crush on Andrew's twin sister Natasha, which unfortunately is not reciprocated. But life goes on...
Toby's school results are not good enough to get to university, like his friends, but he finds a good job with a career path and gets up to all sorts of stuff as he finds his way in life.
The story is good read, has excellent character development and is hard to put down at times. The added chapter and epilogue does finish off the book better.
