This is a story set up we've seen many times - the blackmailed sister who gets caught doing something naughty by her pervy little brothers and forced to do even more naughty things.
What we do not see - is this story done well. This is that story.
I was instantly reminded of Vulgus's style. He is the author of many classics that many of you will recognize such as "Be Careful What You Wish For" and "My Brother's Revenge".
If the first chapter does not immediately grab you - then I am not sure you will love the rest of the story. The reason I say this is the first chapter is perfection.
There are really minor spelling errors. It's all quite readable though and it flows so well that you will swear you hear this mousy British's girl's voice in your ear. Vanessa doesn't have feedback on I would have sent her the minor corrections -"an" instead of "and" - most writers miss a few.
I have met British families on vacation and while I am not British - Vanessa captures that dynamic perfectly. They have a slightly different approach than most Americans do to nudity and corporal punishment.
The first chapter sets a tone for what is to come. The pacing builds tension. You feel empathy for Sophie, but at the same time you are allowed to think "Yeah, but she does bring this on herself" and not feel so guilty about relishing in her humilation.
What sets it apart is the plausibility. The parents punish her - but it feels authentic and genuine. It is clear her parents love her, and are not bastards.
At times, you do wonder why the boys get away with fuck all around the house and she doesn't - but that's also implied in the setting. She is the older sister who is RESPONSIBLE why the parents are out.
And Mom's favorite boys "can do no wrong!!" - so that favoritism isn't extreme, but Mom has blinders on that the boys would never get up to anything but minor mischief and she expects more of her daughter, including a bit of modesty and decorum.
You feel yourself hoping as you click "next chapter" that this does not end soon. You want to savor the lengthy summer holiday and be back again at their home. I can even picture it. It's a two story Brick flat in some small village like Gatwick just outside of London. This could be a very long story.
I am not British, but I could just picture the mum talking about tea and saying things like "Caw, you cheeky monkey! I'll pull those knickers down me'self and call the vicar to give you a proper spank if you don't settle down."
I fear Vanessa will end it when she feels she told the story, as opposed to continue well into an established pattern and just as I fall in love with the characters I won't ever get to see them again.
I guess that's the sign of a story that is a 10/10. I would give it a 9.9 on Technical if I could have, but I have to give it a 9 for that just to be fair.
The only thing I would change if it were me writing is that the boys never seem all that fascinated with her butt. I'd have played with it and done a bit more than spank it.
There is no bondage at least at this point - it's a fun frolic through naughty teenage teasing and sibling rivalries. All in all - this is worth your time if you are a fan of well written stories that feature blackmail and bonus points if you love to read the dialogue in a British accent.
