Unless you grew up sheltered under a squat mushroom, I’m sure you’re familiar with the story of Jack and the Beanstalk; the fairytale of a boy who plants magic beans and climbs high into adventure and fantasy in a world in the clouds. It’s been told and embellished ad-infinitum. If you’re expecting Wayzgoose to tell that story again, sorry…. This ain’t it!
Tall, thin protagonist Jackie IS the beanstalk of this tale. As a brand new high school grad crossing the commencement stage, she’s presented with a diploma and commences on an incredible adventure into a seemingly insane fantasy land, beyond even her own imagination. She doesn’t have to climb into the sky, she just has to climb behind the wheel of her grandfather’s cherished antique car and turn the key. Accompanied by her aunt and a dog named Roadkill she follows a seemingly omniscient road map to magical adventures and heroic feats most graduates could only dream of.
Ride along as Jackie embarks on a seemingly impossible quest. She encounters the usual fantasy cast of ogres, giants, and magical creatures, all presented with unexpected twists and crazy quirks that make you wonder how Wayzgoose ever envisioned such mirth. The fact that he did, and somehow managed to write it all down coherently is amazing. That he ultimately wraps the whole plot all up with a nice little bow at the end is simply mind boggling. And he has assured me absolutely NO mushrooms were involved in his creative process!
Trust me… you’ve never read a Wayzgoose story quite like this before. After you read it, you’ll find yourself hoping and praying that someday he’ll write another adventure like this.! He darned well better! It’s that much fun!
I suggest you shouldn’t wait. Buy this one now. Read it now! You never can be sure when a magical tale like Jackie the Beanstalk might ever sprout from this author’s fertile mind again
