I do love me a solid romance between young adults. This story delivers just that, most excellently. (PennLady mines this vein very well. Check out all her novel-length fics.)
Maya has moved to the big city, specifically Chicago, for a fresh start. Things don’t go quite as she planned, especially with her boyfriend who is … yeah, let’s just say he’s a bad boyfriend. Very bad. Good thing she breaks up with him in the first chapter and meets Toby instead. Toby is very much not a bad boyfriend, but it takes a while to prove it. Plans need altering, after all. And good friends are essential support.
Well-written, both sweet and hot, with an excellent story arc, this is an excellent example of a new adult romance. It’s the author’s most recent story, and I hope we can entice her to continue writing. Recommended.
