I seem to be reviewing shorter stories lately, this is another short one. SleeperyJim has slid this one into a strong showing.

You have a good devoted husband spending several weeks selling the company that he started. While he was distracted with the sale, his wife had been abandoned across the country. As the husband hurried home after completing the sale, he wonders what he how he could make up being gone for so long. Her birthday is just three week’s away.
