FantasyLover has built this adventure story on three strong characters: Lucas Powell, the soccer playing farm boy who is the Behemoth of the title, his Gramps who trained Lucas to survive and to thrive and an eagle, Striker by name.
To achieve his dreams Lucas must face and overcome a war, the rapist mentality of a university's soccer coaching staff and his accumulation of numerous women. How he does this with wit, wisdom, experience and the help of that delightful eagle makes this a fun read.
Don't expect a realistic or romantized retelling of any historic war on Earth. Lucas fights his war in the jungles near home aided by remote control drones and the help of that eagle. There are few bloody scenes. The sex is mild and leaves few wet spots behind. The coaches get what they deserved.
I could have done without the lesson in metric conversion that passed as the first chapter. [Tsk! Tsk!] If I needed the help I had Google search immediately at hand. With that admonition out of the way, I thoroughly enjoyed the story.
I wonder if Lucas, Striker and the girls will be back in the future. Way to go Fantasy Lover!
