Damn it, there must be a lot of dust around here because my eyes are flooding. Sigh.
What an amazing short story, It catches you from the start. You can hear the music as they are dancing. You can see for yourself the looks that were being directed their way. You can certainly feel the love they shared with each other.
A good recollection of what life might have been like in the days when all the Rosies and Sallys and Helens of the US stepped up to the plate and took over men's jobs while the men went to war. The kept the machines working to churn out ships and boats, tanks and jeeps and so much of the material that is consumed in war.
OK, back to the tale. The characterisation is very well done, not just for the MC's but the sidekicks too. I didn't see any grammatical errors nor did there seem to be any holes in the plot. When an author can get you so emotionally attached to the tale that tears can flow you know it is a good story and that the author is very good too. Well Done Mushroom, you got me.
I give this full marks all round, it is a great little tale and well worth your time to read.
PS: His other big tale, 'Country Boy, City Girl' is going very well and another enjoyable read. I recommend it for your reading pleasure:
