Well now, I would say here is a fine vindication of SOL's review facility. I read this story only because I saw it in the new reviews feed; the review 'caused' me to to read it. What specifically interested me was the mention of subject-matter that many might be repulsed by, and thus the tendency for a story to get downgraded because of this, rather than the quality of the writing itself. So, then I gave the story itself a try. It is not something I would have done otherwise - well, not beyond the first few paragraphs at any rate - due to the characters and themes I found in there. Not only that. but I've only gone and got myself reviewer privileges as a result. Hence this.
I will say now: I customarily feel no appeal in the notion of a wife or g/f abusing or humiliating their man, or even having power over them to much extent at all. I would prefer vice-versa, in fact, feeling it to be more an expression of natural masculinity and libido. Then, hell, even less appeal do I feel in... wtf... getting one's mouth pissed in, giving oneself an anema in preparation for... 100% against my own sexuality now... a buggering my some thick-dicked brute. If there's anal penetration in a story, it has to be a man giving it to a woman or girl. It got 'worse' still: the wretched sap was expected eat cum, and all to keep the wife whom he clearly needed and adored happy. Not at all my thing.
But... to my genuine surprise it drew me in. Why? Partly - and very important - for sure it was because the construction and all elements of literacy is good, rendering this cavalcade of abuse and (I think) rare-in-real-life psycho-sexual mania very readable. But also, and influenced by Davidson's review, I found myself thinking 'just stay with this, open yourself to the characterisation, give some imagination to what might drive this type of behaviour and what effect it might have on both perpetrator(s) and 'victim'. Indeed it causes one to question even the concept of 'victim', and the very nature of love and lust. I found I needed to broaden my mind to realise that different things drive different people in eroticism and needing to feel value and/or power.
I waned when the action seemed to me to become downright relentless, vile and silly. But I could be wrong there too: people do (hell, I should know) become obsessed and ever-darker in all kinds of sexualities. Things do escalate; maybe they even HAVE to escalate, so that a state of enlightnment and peace can be reached. I skim-read the 3rd quarter or so, but re-engaged towards the end, and the end itself I found both surprising yet eminently believable - made total sense - and indeed this alone elevated the whole thing from rather superficial stroke-story to, well, 'story', with a fine plot; a beginning, middle, end and a worthy theme to make one think. Every ingredient, in other words, that defines a good piece of fiction.
There is something more, from my angle at least (and many won't like it). I found myself getting the insight that a child getting abused - or to escape that awful word, can we say 'sexualised' - might well be having a very similar experience psychologically as well as physically to the male protagonist in this story. It parallels it (I should imagine) in so many ways. The obedience is based on wanting approval, fear of losing something, not wanting to be lonely, and also the innate instinct of discovery and willingness ot be lead. The relationship has evolved from early beginnings, so that the protagonist feels it to be the normal way of things, becomes acucstomed and even learns to enjoy the most vile demands, through accustomization and the psychological effects of being reduced to what is basically servitude. It's an interesting thought, if something of a digression, that slaves in ancient Rome were often very much loved (if 'abused' in the way we'd understand it now) by their masters, and they in turn felt great loyalty to their masters. Thus, the model presented in this story could very much be used to present credibility to a 'pedo' story also, although as we know that's a theme that holds even less general reader appeal, and moreover is not allowed either on SOL or in law itself anymore. The raft of the old pedo stories that existed on asstr - which were frankly mostly complete unbelievable shit - could have learned a lot from this.
I do hope Gina herself is not offended by this observation, and I sign off by praising her for a quality piece of writing which may or may not have any such parallels whatsoever, except in my own very twisted (in a different way!) mind. I echo Davidson's sentiments that a further and even exploration of that doting couple would be very welcome. Perhaps my biggest praise of all is that it has caused me to think 'could I actually go through all that, myself, for some woman I was particularly infatuated by?!' Accordingly, somehow I find myself giving it '6' for appeal.

GinaB is a very talented author. She frequently writes Femdom/FLR stories that paint a very nuanced but fun look at that kink.
Unfortunately, SOL has a troll infestation that immediately downvotes any FLR stories regardless of quality. I guess rather than respect story codes they feel it's their obligation to 'punish' the author to try to convince them not to write stories of that genre.
There is NOTHING about GinaB's story that makes it a poor story. No discernable grammatical errors, and as a short story it quickly paints the picture of the MC and tells a story.
There are warnings that this is a non-consensual story, although it really isn't the typical NC story. No spoilers, but in my mind the MC was quite happy pleasing his wife. Not everybody needs to be "in charge" and poly relationships work for many.
I once knew a woman just like his wife. She was stern and stingy with her affection. She liked sex though - which made her complicated. She had a sassy southern accent where she drew out words like "Why" so they sounded like "Wuh-Eye"? The single word was spoken like a challenge to suggest whatever you are doing - you should stop immediately.
The author takes you through very quick vignettes starting in high school through their early married life and you feel like you know this young couple.
I could almost hear her voice in the dialogue. There is a surprisingly happy ending at the story, albeit it feels short. My only complaint if I can call it that would be that I would love to hear more of their adventures. I'd love to hear them talk about why the wife enjoyed things the way they were and what she'd do differently the next time (because there WILL be a next time).
