This story has it all . . . at least for me. Confession time. I'm an old fart so it was easy for me to relate to the main character. Get an old veteran and his girlfriend accepted into a world class prepper's location where all the preppers are smart, capable and attractive females and I'm hooked! Who cares if some of them are bisexual?
I laughed out loud at some of the character Dennis' very apt comments about his 'old fartedness'. All you old guys will see the veracity and any female readers can consider such a learning experience.
Having spent a year in 'the bush' of northern Canada I could appreciate the survival descriptions when Dennis is caught out in a snowstorm. This is SoL so you know he has a female companion. There are some other 'companions' as well but they are part of the 'secrets' so you'll need to read to discover who they are.
I appreciated the author's careful attention to detail and his careful construction of the prose he used to weave this fascinating story. I read it first as a serial then enjoyed it all over again now that it is complete. I'm looking forward to Book 2!
