Snekguy has been posting stories on SOL for quite a few years now and, as an author, has really developed. His early tales were good though the inter-species sex was often too detailed for my taste. With 'Firebrand' he has ably demonstrated that he is an author worthy of serious consideration.
In this tale we have a well planned plot, his usual mix of detailed and interesting characters plus some fine detective work. There are enough red herrings to feed a few cats (those of normal size, not Borealeans or even Maine Coons!) or to keep a weekend fisherman happy. The action sequences flow fast and smoothly and the whole work has been well edited/proofed, leaving few errors.
Well done, Mr. Snek, this is your best work to date. I enjoyed it and I am sure that anyone else who reads will do so, too.
