What do you do when your wife betrays you while you're overseas serving your country? When she takes everything, including your precious little daughter, and disappears with a new husband? When she is aided and abetted by a corrupt local judge?
Grey McKinley couldn't find where his ex-wife took their daughter, so he decided the next best thing would be to deprive the judge of HIS daughter. So he kidnapped her and installed her in a specially-built room inside his cabin in the woods.
Well, it seemed like a good idea at the time, but some reverse form of Stockholm Syndrome ensued, throwing a monkey wrench into the works.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story, and it proudly resides in my permanent collection.
