Unlike the first two books, this is written from the perspective of the parents of the characters in the first two books. And what amazing perspectives they are. So many of the things that entertain us these days do so by adding breathless (and often mindless) action and hot, steamy sex. This book entertains us by bringing its characters to life before our eyes.
The book should be revered for the quality and depth it brings to each of the adult characters. Aroslav is one of the most proficient and prolific writers here; his talent is immense, and I cannot see how he can produce quality writing in such prolific amounts when he is limited to 24 hours in a day, like I am.
You may be able to read this book without having read the first two, but do yourself a favor and read those first. Your experience after doing so will be much richer.
Oh, and set aside a lot of hours, too. I read pretty fast, but even so there's such a treasure of writing here for a reader to enjoy. Reading the LNDtH books will bring you days, maybe weeks, of pleasure. I guarantee that they are worth the time you'll invest.
