I found this story when it was mentioned on the site's forum, in the lost stories section. I'm glad I did.
Our protagonist dies and ends up in his own body back when he was thirteen with his memories intact. Growing up in an abusive family during the first time through, he vows to change the course of his life.
'Echo' is a good do-over story where the protagonist manages to turn around his childhood and makes a better life for himself and those around him.
I enjoyed the story quite a bit.
The only annoyance was that the end felt a bit rushed. I would have enjoyed more of Wayne's story and maybe an epilogue. But at least this way, there is room for a book 2.

Let me start out by saying that I really like "DoOvers". As the genre goes this is an EXCELLENT addition! If you are looking for a story that involves "doing thing right the second time", plenty of well written sex scenes and some seriously well written main characters this is a must read.
Plot: This story certainly doesn't break any new ground as far as the "DoOver" genre goes, but it is a great read. The plot is pretty much standard old guy dies (in this case in a motorcycle crash), goes back to his teen years, over comes parental abuse and a dysfunctional family to become loved, educated and rich. What this story DOES certainly provide is some good drama, and well written dialog.
Technical: No major glitches that effected readability were found. There were a few iffy plot devices (re the gambling segments), but, other then annoying the absolute purist, they had no effect on anything other then helping the plot line along.
Appeal: Bottom line is this is a GREAT story. The story is well written (in a genre that often is not), has unique plot twists (in a genre not noted for them) and was thoroughly enjoyable! Highly recommended!
