In general I like Unca D's stories. The author often takes on characters who are in some way different from "normal" (as if any of us is normal).
This story is a romance between a "normal" college student, Carter, and Valerie, who has some mental issues. Valerie's issues present some challenges for the couple to overcome. Like most of this author's stories, it's character-driven.
I admit, I'm a sucker for a good romance, and this is one. The characters are believable, there are no obvious holes in the plot, and the whole story hangs together well. You don't have to suspend your sense of disbelief for this one.
For those of you looking for guns/military/secret agents/pneumatic bimbos etc., look elsewhere; it's not that kind of story. Nor is it a stroke story.
What it is is a well-written romance. Technically, it could use a bit of work; I found a number of typos and punctuation errors.
But in the end, the characters and the underlying story make it a worthwhile read, enough so that I found myself looking to see if there's a sequel. I recommend it.
