I liked this story a lot. The author has other wonderful stories with magical backgrounds so this one sort of starts them off. I am not stupid enough to try to recapitulate the action. There is a lot for a 30 plus chapter story.
Doing the numbers, the plot is a 9, A plus. Lots of things happen, never a dull moment, and there is enough sex for any SOL story that has a real plot. I only gave an 8, an A, to technical. I sent a fair number of proofreading suggestions to the author. Nothing horrible but a space in Super Intendant, an e at the end of local, really minor stuff only an idiot would worry about.
Appeal, sorry, only a 9, A plus. I save tens for stories that blow me away, and I am still here. Well worth reading, I recommend it to everyone. There are some Australianisms probably because the author is from Australia. So are the two principal characters so it reads pretty well, although you may want to google some of the words. I checked to make sure Australianism is a word. My only reasonable criticism is that you are going to want to know what happens next and will have to read more of this author's stories.
