Reviewed:
First my review of the story, I thought it was good, short but good. Concise and exciting. I haven't read anything else by Lance C but he has a future in writing drama and I look forward to any more stories.
Now my review of what happened in the story. First off, I am NOT a lawyer (I don't even like lawyers) and I can't say positively what the laws are in Florida. But I can tell you what will happen in most of the rest of the country. First even if it is a good shooting, you ARE going to jail and mostly likely will have to be bailed out. Second never tell the police anything without a lawyer present. Yes, they will say that makes you sound guilty. That is their job. Oh, and letting a suspect (known to you or not, even a fellow police office) keep their weapon is an actionable offense(meaning you can be sued, fired or just punished).
What am I basing this advice on? I have held a concealed carry permit for the last fifteen years or so. Most of this is straight from the course. Some is from actual lawyers and the NRA or other organizations of the same kind. So a good story but a very bad idea of what to do in REAL life.
