Reviewed:
It's gritty. It's part horror, part whodunnit and a little police procedural. It has quite a bit of battlefield-like relationship acerage in it, torn up by some serious shelling.
And it rains a lot.
There are enough red herrings in here to make it captivating, and all together it's a ripping yarn.
Might pay to read the first one in the St Clair universe first.
