Rob’s girlfriend Angie does a scorched earth breakup with him at a picnic in front of everybody. If that’s not bad enough, Rob’s best friend is getting married, and he is supposed to attend her wedding. Unfortunately, Angie is one of the bridesmaids, and he most assuredly does not want to be in the same place with her.
Mister Niceguy spends quite a bit of time going through this next segment but the bottom line is Rob wins some money and another guy’s girlfriend (Ally) for a weekend on a World Series bet.
As one might expect, Ally is not thrilled to be someone’s winnings. When he picks her up for his weekend, Rob gets a heavy serving of cold shoulder. But later, he puts her mind at rest and explains to her what his plans for her are (if she’s willing).
What happens afterwards demonstrates the advantages of treating a woman with respect, generosity, and affection. I won’t spoil the rest of the story for you, but rest assured Rob has a wonderful time, gets revenge on his old girlfriend, and gains much more than just a weekend (the title kind of gives it away).
I am a sucker for a good romantic yarn, and this one has it in spades. It is definitely a feel good story, and I highly recommend it to anyone who has similar tastes. This is another one I’m keeping in my permanent collection.
UPDATE: This author left an unfinished story on this site that was a follow-up to “It Started With Christmas”. That partial story was removed due (I assume) to there being no updates for a certain period of time. I am afraid that Mister NiceGuy is no longer with us. I would be very interested to see if anyone knows who he is/was, and if some light could be shed on his status.
UPDATE PART DEUX: Mister NiceGuy is back with us! His latest blog (as of 8/28/20) includes an apology for leaving his fans hanging for the last couple of years. I hope he is doing well and that whatever caused this hiatus is resolved to his satisfaction. I look forward to more feel-good stories!
