Reviewed:
I had just finished reviewing another story by this author when I went to the stream page on SOL and found this one posted in its entirety. This is the second book of this particular series, although there are other books in this "universe".
For plot, I give this an A (8). The story actually takes place both prior to and concurrent with the first Gifted book. It fleshes out completely a couple of characters who only played a small role in the previous book.
For technical score, sadly, I again have to give a D (5). Again, it is the massive issue of wrong homophones (to/too/two, their/they're, etc) used, extra or missing words here and there, incorrect punctuation from time to time, and several other things. In the prologue, the author credits an editor, but goes on to state that any mistakes found are his own, as he tends to go in after the fact again. That does not excuse the number of times he misspelled the MCs name alone.
For personal appeal, I give the story another A (8). It may have scored a 9 if all those pesky errors did not appear.
