Space opera and spy stuff in a reality far into the future.

I would have never read these two stories if this author had not been recommended in a forum thread.
I like tales where the protagonist helps regular folks. In these two stories the author creates a character that had been crapped on by the powers that be at a very young age. The protagonist exacts revenge for the execution of her parents and then goes on to avenge other decent people when they are subjected to evil from low level criminals.
Kat builds a reputation for completing 'contracts' against those that take advantage of hard working folks. The tale builds from there. I'll not include any more spoilers.
Book two is a continuation of the spy stuff with a bit of romance mixed in.
At the end of book 2 the author has a note that says a book 3 is in progress. Maybe so, but it has not appeared yet. I can only hope that the author, Reluctant_Sir, is still writing and will publish the third book.
There are a few glitches that interrupt the reading flow, mostly misspelled words. Not too often, but noticeable.
I give these two tales solid 9's across the board.

Certainly not a new story, but one that is well worth reading.
The 'no sex' and 'Science Fiction' tags would normally put me off, but thankfully the random story generator brought it to my attention.
Yes it is certainly Science Fiction and yes there isn't any sex. What there is in abundance is a well paced, well crafted story with a very believable cast of characters.
At 30 chapters it isn't a quick read, but it is well worth it, and better still, there is a follow on story, which is just as well, because the author ends this story perfectly, in as much as it leaves the reader wanting more.
A few errors but not enough to be annoying.
