Reviewed:
Semper Fi is a recent offering from Chase Shivers. Listed as a Romantic story it is so much more. It is a very thought provoking story delving into morality, duty, the effects of continuous warfare, religion and politics.
The characters are realistic and believable with some depth to them. People in the middle of great change and dealing with the reality of the present challenging the beliefs they held in another time.
There were only a few typo type issues on the technical side. Spell checker works fine, it is just a few typos that changed a word from what was intended into something else. Foot into food and word into world are a couple I can remember off the top of my head. Otherwise it is well written with a good flow.
Some Sex is an appropriate level and what is described graphically does work with the story. The sex is part of the conflict in the storyline and as such a needed element in the story.
I believe that the story is appropriately scored by the readers and I recommend most readers adding it to their reading list. Anyone who is easily upset by religious or political issues might want to give it a pass.
As always, I hope my review is helpful and feedback is welcome.
