A Hidden Gem!
This story – and others of a similar vein – are why I subscribe to SOL.
I did not expect to find this gem – it was pure serendipity at work. But as I write this review the score is just over a 7.5. Why so low? I've not a clue. But IMO it should rate a 9.5+!
I'll not try to provide a synopsis of the plot and spoil it for you. But early on I twigged to what the research was actually going to be used for. You'll have that same feeling of self-satisfaction when you get to the end of the tale and find that you were right too.
And... there is so much potential in the premise of the story. Lots of plots and sub plots to explore, with enough potential intrigue for any fan of the scifi, mystery and action genera. I hope the author continues and gives us a dozen more using this plot device.
The story is long enough to get in all the needed details, but short enough to be read in a couple or three hours. Try it, I'm sure you too will find it much better than the 7.5 score would indicate.
