My reviewer's profile gives the parameters that I use for judging a story here. I believe that erotic fiction should be judged by the same standards as non-erotic fiction. That said, in my opinion, “Change of Life” hits just about every standard that I find important. It has a plot. It is very well written. And it affect me strongly.
Given the gestalt of the story, one would expect it to have appeal across a wide range of reader's ages. Why it is rated only 6.85 is truly puzzling. I can only think it has something to do with a visceral prejudice against stroke stories, i.e. not accepting them as literature. Something that I don't share.
This story is good. Really, really good. I consider it underrated by at least 1.5. It is well written, lacks spelling, syntactic and homonym errors, all of which are no-nos with me. I'd give it 9 for plot, 10 for technical and 9 for appeal. And I will be reading more of this author's work. I'd recommend you do the same.
