Character age clarification

Switch Blayde ๐Ÿšซ

With all the changes that have occurred concerning characters' ages, I found discrepancies in the system and its documentation I'd like clarification on.

In the rules, it states that "Basically, all characters that engage in any described/detailed sexual activity must be 14 or older."

In the submission Wizard, it still offers the tags for "ft" and "mt" which are for characters under 18 years old.

But in the tag definitions, the "ft" and "mt" tags no longer exist.

My assumption is the tag definitions are incorrect (that definitions for "ft" and "mt" are incorrectly missing). But you know what they say about people who assume.

@Switch Blayde

I just tried to verify what you were saying and then I realized that I couldn't remember WHERE to find the definitions for the tags. โ˜น๏ธ

There's are link to it on the New Stories, Updated Stories pages (Tag Definitions) and on the category search page (Show All Tags).

@akarge

WHERE to find the definitions for the tags

There are two places.

1. on the left side on the home page (Tag Definitions link).
2. Authors/Editors and then Tag Definitions.

Thanks, guys.

But in the tag definitions, the "ft" and "mt" tags no longer exist.

Wasn't that a defensive measure at the time of the great purge? The mt and ft definitions should only apply to sexual encounters and teenage sexual encounters were forbidden by the Germans, so under their rules those tags should theoretically never be used.

Has that been fully resolved? New stories posted today include eg mt/ft.

Yet you can still select them when posting a new story. And the submission rules say the ages must be 14 or older.

That's why I'm asking. I'd like to know what the final decision is. I believe the tag definitions need to be updated, but I want to be sure (I just started a new story).

I believe the tag definitions need to be updated,

I agree.

There are several places on the site where age is mentioned. So the description in those places should also be updated to be consistent.

If we were to examine the minimum legal age for engaging in sexual activities, we would find there is no standardization. If we were to examine the age at which young people begin to engage in sexual activities, in general, we would find the age to be below the legal minimum limit. As long as this age difference between legal age and actual age exists, we authors will have problems writing stories that accurately reflect reality.

Way below the limit. In one of our local schools, a fifth grade student finished the year pregnant. That is about 11 years old. How do you explain that to her classmates? At that age, they can't talk about sex education, but they can discuss LGBTQIA+ issues.

How do you explain that to her classmates?

It can be done, but the person giving the children the knowledge they need are likely to end up in prison.
