Story chapters cut short

Hi guys.

I usual read the stories from here on my ereader with out any problems.
The last two stories I have downloaded though have faults each chapter starts with the story synopsis which is normally only at the beginning of the story and each chapter ends with The source of this story is Storiesonline
To read the complete story you need to be logged in:
Log In or
Register for a Free account (Why register?).
then on either the second or third chapter it is cut short with this message
There is more of this chapter...

I have looked through announcements and cant see any mention of this being a new feature so the stories have to be read online.
Does anyone else have the same problem and is there any way to resolve this.

I'd say your cookies got eaten. What you're describing is what happens when someone not logged in through an active SoL account sees when someone has sent them a story link and they followed the link. If you have an account you need only sign in again and it should go away. . However, if you have a free account and trying to read a Premier only story you should get this or a very similar message.

Thanks for the info Ernest.
It was a direct download whilst I was logged in.
It is not a premier story so that isn't the problem.
I have just downloaded one of the stories again & it is exactly the same.
Must be something on my computer acting up IO will check all of my settings. :)

Are you certain you were logged in? When Laz updated the login process, even if you normally always stayed logged in, you'd have been logged out.

Don't know if it will help but:

Log out of SOL, clear your cookies, and then log back in.

It was a direct download whilst I was logged in.

What do you mean by a direct download.

Are you using one of the (zip,txt,epub,kindle) buttons for downloading that show up in story listings, or are you opening a chapter and trying to do a save as with your browser?

I was logged in I even redownloaded one of the books after making my first post in this thread.
I will log out & log back in to see if that clears up the problem

Logged out cleared cookies restarted computer still the same problem.
Something weird is going on will having a premium account resolve the problem ?

How are you downloading? do you use some extension in your browser to help with downloads? How do you convert your files for your ebook reader?

Premier service provides you with a single click download for each story, so it would definitely help.

I'd say this is a consequence of the new unified login system; your downloader needs to perform a login to get the content, but the login system has recently changed and I can see that the changes will make this difficult as effectively now you login on a different site. Read up on your downloader authentication procedures, and the thread Changes to the login system. If you can't get your downloader to login on one site to access another, then you'll need to go premier or you're SOL (so outta luck)
