To my thinking, for any reasonably intelligent woman of any age to allow herself to be blackmailed into real life sexual activities it would have to be something more then just embarrassing, it would have to be something criminal, something that could end up in jail/prison time.

"I will not tell [mom*] you did that to your sister, if you do X."

Then, won't tell X if you do Y, etc.

The first series of dares could be silly things and not sexual activities at all, and perhaps even least anything to do with the blackmailer himself, but to take the thighs fast...

Say, I won't tell you pushed your sister in the pool fully clothed, if you will take your swimsuit off underwear and show it above your head. Then take it from her. Then make her run for the doors.

When she's back, tell her to jump in the pool in just panties. Get those off. Before long, to run over the street naked.

Give her tasks she would enjoy but regret.

If she's a bully, tell her to abuse others more, not less, giving suggestions what to do.

Say, she's naked in the pool. Say the only way out is to wear Alice's swimsuit. (I don't care who Alice is, but she must, and she's obviously coming to jump in)

Tell to tease or flash guys, promising your backup if they're too aggressive.

*mom: a person with *important opinion* not necessarily limited with authority figures

Not every blackmail threat should involve the same figure, in the contrary, expand the geography of those as much as possible. Different things directed and famed differently.

Make her do something secret, but supposedly unforgivable to that same little sister.

Do she have a boyfriend, a crush, the best female friend who's a rumor central?

"I will show [your favorite boy/ the whole football team] what a slut you really are."

"Think if [the local social star queen bee] will learn what you have done, you will never wash that reputation."

Those can be more efficient than parents. Unlike against parents, those could be carried out if needed be, then that played further.

Also, the blackmailer may, even should "rescue" her from situations he himself created, white knight, build trust. Before long he's the only person she can be fully open with, in front of whom she's not telling lies, not think what she tells, looks like, and what she does. He sets her free while the rest of the world is a prison with arcane rules going more tangled by day.

He should just use the D.E.N.N.I.S. System on her.

Even reasonably intelligent people do dumb things (see the last 3 years (which works no matter what side of any of the debates you're on)).

I know it actually happens with young children, who are 'groomed' into sexting by malevolent adults, but the idea of a reasonably intelligent 14yo allowing herself to be blackmailed into real life sexual activities by illegally taken nude pictures or videos requires significant suspension of disbelief on my part.

Neither you, Chris, nor I are likely to be victims of such a scheme. Sadly, too many young teens, and even adults have become victims of blackmail (from things even less consequential than a shower video).

Both as part of my duties as an NCO, and now as a volunteer for several veterans organizations, I have been trained to assist people who have been victims of sexual assault in the armed forces. According to what I have been taught, and heard from victims; very few of these incidents are physical asaults, mostly they are by various forms of exploitation or intimidation. I can better understand an inexperienced trainee in their late teens or early twenties being exploited. Yet mature adaults, who have experinced deployments, even combat, have been exploited.

I have read, and been taught, that "predators" can often detect victims (people who are suseptable to coercion, and often unwilling to report vicimization). There is some data that "victims" sometimes gravitate to predators. Not that every victim significantly contributes to their peril. However, some do. At least they do things that make them vulnerable, and too often don't go to others for assistance.

Even back in the "stone age" of the 1970's I remember being taught "Danger Stranger" and other potential risks of exploitation. In Basic Training, and every year in the US Army, I, and all other troops were trained in avoiding sexual assault, blackmail, and abduction; if you did become a victim, we were made aware of options for reporting, and that victims would be protected and perpatrators punished.

Yes, I know that too often abusers got away with their crimes, and victims suffered additional humiliation and other punishments. Many exploiters, up to Generals, Admirals, and Senior NCOs were punished. Corporate CEOs and Movie Moguls have been punished too. J. Epstine, and others have been punished. POTUS Clinton got away with his exploitation of unwilling victims. Many other well documanted examples either way.

Too many of the RL tales I have heard of sexual exploitaion I have silently wondered why the victim didn't avail themselves of multiple ways to avoid becoming a victim. Then there are the incidents where it seems clear the predator was quite cunning and the victim had few oportunities to have avoided the situation.

There are Lies, Damn Lies, and Statistics I won't bother quoting any of the specific statistics. I believe that many of the numbers are inflated. However, I believe that in excess of 5%, or 1 in 20 of females (and at least 3 in 100 males) have been victims of sexual exploitation. (Yes, I am Understating what are probably the numbers!)

I find it sadly too believable that a fourteen year old girl could be blaackmailed into sex. Or an eighteen year old, a twenty-four year old, etc.

Would every female be blackmailed? No. But too many could be. Males too. There is considerable documentation that predators have exploited dozens, even hundreds of victims before getting caught.

Are mere nude pictures, or an "innocent" video ehough? Yup! Rationally, a nude video of a person in a shower shouldn't be embarassing. Who really expects to be spied upon while showering? Would your parents "blame" you for being naked in the shower? Predators know (have learned) how to get a person "off balance" then exploiting their vulnerablities.

Not nearly the same, but during my second deployment to Iraq, I was taking a shower at a time that most of the rest of my unit was sleeping. I heard the door to the Staff NCO shower trailer unit open, but no one seemed to have come in. I stuck my head out of the shower stall and saw one of the Nigerian "security gurads" (for D-Facs and towers at JBB) staring at me with "dead eyes" I didn't usually bring my M-4 (carbine) with me to shower; I did have a knife, and this time also a pistol, in my shower kit. I stepped out of the shower and grabbed my pistol (in violation of regs I had not only a mag in the pistol, but a round in the chamber). The dude fled. I considered persuing him in all my naked glory...

After I finished my shower, I met with our Platoon Sergeant, and mentioned the incident to him. He asked why I didn't just shoot him? They were forbidden to be in our billeting areas. I told him (my PLT SGT), you'd have killed me because of all the paperwork. We both laughed. Later, at the daily briefing, the Platoon Sergeant cautioned all of our men to be armed when going to the latrines/showers.

Dozens, probably hundreds of men and women were raped in the shower units of JBB (Joint Base Balad).

Callousness is probably accurate, however, I believe that many victims have contributed to their victimization. They have failed to take percautions. When in a situation, that usually had few consequences, they none-the-less, allowed themselves to be coerced into becoming a victim (or even criminaly liable) when they should have just reported the situation.

Write Your Story however you want, however, blackmailing a teen (or others) with a shower video, or other "trivial" leverage is sadly all too common.

To be clear, this, and other circumstance just don't "click" for what you want in your story. I am not critisizing you. Rather, I am providing a perspective that I have been trained in, to assit others (or as part of my military duties). I am also influenced by some people, mostly women, who have informed me about their own experiences, or those of victims.
