Hi I just read The Hand Bound by PT Brainum. I am looking for other stories like this where the MC finds alien artifact or something and gets powers of some sort. Or aliens do something to the MC to give powers. Any recommendations would be great. Thanks

You've found many but should also look into Kris Me's Keltria stories/series where various pieces of bling (ring, diadem, medallion ..) enable the wearers to develop varied skills and abilities, depending on how many, and which, gems are embedded into each piece of bling.

Staffies are still legal here - a few in my neighbourhood own them (and not because they're drug dealers). I think there might be an issue with some Staffy crosses but I'm not 100% sure.

What makes it funny from a name and dog perspective is the Staffordshire Bull Terrier and the Pit Bull Terrier are actual breeds, but calling dogs Pit Bulls is a generic catch-all in general conversation. However, cities can specifically define that, like the code does here where I live.

You might enjoy several of Fick Suck's stories. Dark Energy is probably the most obvious.
There are several stories in which a human encountering an alien space ship gets enhanced. Roustwriter's Arlene and Jeff springs to mind.
