post deleted?

Freyrs_stories ๐Ÿšซ

I originally made a post about a story world I want to create at this link and was told to post it the story discussion forum and did. I tried to close the original post by stating that I'd cross posted in the original post. but now the second post seems to of disappeared. what is the correct process for closing a post and directing to a new one?

@Freyrs_stories

There is no process for that.

There is no process for that.

The process is to ask Lazeez to move the old thread to the correct forum group, not to start a new one with the same question.

The process is to ask Lazeez to move the old thread to the correct forum group, not to start a new one with the same question.

That's not what the OP asked about. There is no process for the OP to close a forum thread.

I guess I deleted the wrong post.

I always thought of the story discussion section of the forum as for discussing existing stories and things like discussing something to be written as something more interesting to authors and belonged in the author hangout section.

That's the way I've always used them.

the author hangout section.

Why do we want to hang an author? Hanging in or out, it likely will be fatal.

NO !!! You were not TOLD to post it to Story Discussion. You also were also not TOLD to delete your post from Author Hangout.

I suggested you post to Story Discussion because it seemed to me like it would be a better fit because you wanted discussion about writing your story. From what I have observed, many non-author readers in the Forum seem to be hesitant to visit Author Hangout.

I did not say Author Hangout was the wrong place to post your topic; just that Story Discussion might be a better place. You could have done what I suggested and left the post in Author Hangout for additional input.

@REP

I did post it in 'discussion' and tried to delete the author one but received a message that it couldn't be deleted as there was a reply to it. so after your message I left one saying it was cross posted in the other forum. and to ignore the original one. this was done with the the hope of not having dual lines of replies and avoid the wrong one being deleted.

English is not my first language and interpenetration is a problem I have from time to time, especially when it comes to inference.

sorry for any confusion, but I was pretty tired when I did this and wanted the simplest solution.

So can I ask here to have the thread moved and delete the closing message on it please

That's strange. I recently started a new topic in author hangout specifically requesting feedback from authors, but I got lots of replies from non-author readers.

Not so strange. I can recall several posts in which the poster expressed concern about posting in the Authors Hangout because they weren't authors.

I think this attitude is caused by the title of the 'Author Hangout' section, which seems to imply that the section is for authors only. However, we authors try to make new non-author visitors comfortable when they express concern about posting in the Author Hangout.

Is it just me who thinks that sort of post would be most at home in "story ideas" section?

Nope. There's at least two of us.

I thought "story ideas" was an idea you wanted someone else to write.

It depends. If you are going by your own personal interpretation, then yes. But if you actually abide by the description as below, then NO.

Story Ideas

Have a story idea but you can't write? Post it here and maybe somebody will pick up your idea and develop it. No guarantees and maybe, no credit either

The OP is writing a story.

@Freyrs_stories

In my opinion, there is no Forum section that is intended for providing Freyrs_Tales with what he is requesting.

From his description, he is looking for someone to collaborate with him on his story in an advisory capacity. The Forum is not intended for that purpose. The best he can hope for here is a few suggestions, which probably will not meet his needs.
