I don't doubt that your interpretation could be correct, however, there are some authors whose work readers greatly enjoy and where those authors are inactive, any posts are gratefully received. MWTB is one such author.

Hmm, if it was meant as a 'heads up' he should have sent a PM – if possible – to the author and posted to 'Story Recommendations' to reach more non-author readers who might have missed or ignored MWTB's new story.

Because everyone who posts on this forum takes great pains to ensure they only ever post thoughtful, informative, well-reasoned comments, always on topic and of course without fail posted in the correct section.
So. What do you suggest? Flogging, hanging or crucifixion?
Maybe it had to do with an author posting for the first time in almost 6 years whose work has been asked about in this forum.

It could be that I was to lazy to look up the Author Info thread and post on it that MWTB was now active on the site again, since he is listed as unknow by the people who control the author info site.
I will let you makeup your own mind on the subject.

We add new inactive contributors when requested to do so. We also remove inactive contributors from the web site when we learn that their status changed to active. If you check the web site, you will find that MTBW has been removed from our list of inactive contributors.

Short answer: No, but...
The general rules we follow on readerinfo.net is that a contributor must be either inactive for 2 years (mostly for reasons unknown), the contributer has died (verifiable), the contributor announced retirement, or the contributor announced a hiatus (which would be very strange for a new contributor unless its a medical hiatus).

Some time ago we discussed adding the classic authors that can be found on Storiesonline, Finestories, and SciFiStories but we decided not to include those. They are listed on one or more of the SOL sites but are not really part of the SOL contributors family. Just a simple search would give you anything you want to lnow about them. We even discussed adding extensive biographies but we thought we better stick to why we started: inform about 'lost' contributors and a place to honor those great contributors that have passed on.
