I saw the stories listed on New Stories. I found several of interest, but I don't have time to read them right now.
The option to bookmark the stories is not available. I would have bookmarked the stories that were of some interest to me and read them later today or tomorrow when I have more time.
I don't know why the option to bookmark a story is not available. I am not likely to return to the New Stories listing to find and read the stories of interest to me.

The bookmarking system (in the library) would reveal the author names.

Oh come on!
I could understand your point if three hundred or so stories were uploaded per day, but that isn't the case. The reality is that maybe ten or so stories will be uploaded in the next twenty four hours or so, meaning that the majority of the contest stories will still be on the first page.
Are you really saying to us all, that you can't be arsed to click on the 'next page' button to access the contest stories that have moved to the next page?
If you fancy reading a contest entry later, you could always do the prehistorically archaic thing of (gasp!) writing the story name of interest down on a piece of paper to speed up your search of all of a few seconds tomorrow when you have time/feel inclined to read something.
Hashtag first world problems...

Or just go to the contest list and click on the entry for Valentines Day 2024.

It's not that I am lazy.
There were only 2-3 stories that were of any interest to me. Even then, those stories had very little appeal to me.
I didn't feel it was worth my time to go through the listing again to find the stories. If I did expend the time and effort, I would have to read the stories at that moment, and I am not really interested in reading today.
I am also not interested in contests. So, I don't intend to expend the time necessary to review the contest listing to locate a story that I had minimal interest in reading.
We have the results!
Our 2024 Valentines day writing contest was a great success.
Crimson Dragon's "Cupid's Arrows" Came in First place
Switch Blayde's "Your Cheating Heart" In second place
And last but not least, Gandoff's "Second Chances" Rounded out the winners in third place.
Congratulations to our winners and a big thank you for all the participants for making this year's Valentines Day Writing contest a great success.
I've refreshed the SOL home page but still get a banner saying "The Valentines Day Contest Stories are now open for reading and voting. [ Dismiss ]".
You should probably update that.

One of the stories seems to have been removed already.... The one by 'tmax02610'.
Ouch, Aroslav got a kicking. 5.85. I wonder if that will rocket up when the fans read it?
Ouch number 2. Oyster50. 6.90.
And James Howlette was not immune either at 6.44.
Congratulations to Crimson Dragon for both winning and somehow escaping the storiesonline competition curse, by submitting a story that is apparently higher scoring than all their other works...
The author doesn't show up in the author list, nor does the author or story show up in the removed stories list.
The author doesn't show up in the author list

Still there. You may have blocked them or they may be on your exclusion list.
Interesting, I don't have any authors blocked or on the exclusion list and a search for the author in the author search gave no results.
The author shows up now, no idea what happened.

I posit that the story was written as part of a 'school' series and that the characters indulging in coitus were 14 or over therefore SOL-legal but too young for contest entries.
But that's just idle speculation.

Possibly. But it shouldn't have warranted removal in totality, just from the competition?
But it shouldn't have warranted removal in totality
And even if it did warrant removal in totality, it should show up on the removed stories list.
The MC/narrator of that story was a 14yo girl who engages in much sex.
As to 'complete removal'--IDK how the process works, but during the contest, I'm sure it wouldn't appear on the writer's page. Beyond that? Not a clue.
aroslav's story is peculiar and really won't work 'til he does a long version. Oyster's is far from his best. Crimson's, otoh, is, per her, the best she's ever written. Nora and I had a wonderful time editing it. It's a really good story.

Not really, IMO. It's his variation on the play 'La Ronde'.
